As private investigators, our data costs and research
fees are less expensive than the typical screening
company so we are typically very competitive on price.
Please understand what we mean by an "apples
to apples" comparison. We are NOT an online database
company. Generally speaking, online databases are
very dangerous because most of them are not updated
regularly and many of them contain huge "holes"
in their database. Many online databases are in violation
of the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Even the state of
Texas' admits that its' own criminal database is only
about 60% accurate. In addition to properly screening
their applicants, our clients are looking for us to
provide them with a report that will "mitigate
their liability" in the event there is ever a
question about their hire.
In our opinion (and in the opinion of a few courts),
obtaining an inexpensive, outdated, online database
report does not constitute "due diligence"
on your part in properly screening your applicants.
We strongly encourage you to do direct verifications
of county court records in addition to any other searches
or verifications you may be doing.
